Few words about our
Story
In January 2012, while I was living in Ghana for work purposes, I (Josiane) was led by Jesus to start a Bible study group in a residence occupied by French-speaking girls in Ghana. About two years later (in January 2014), we decided to organize an evangelization campaign. It was at that point that the need arose to find a name for our group. All the members at the time contributed different ideas. Collectively, we decided to name our group GENESE, an acronym for “Génération Élite du Saint-Esprit” (Elite Generation of the Holy Spirit).
GENESE first represents the excellence we aspire to, because we believe that with the Holy Spirit, it is possible to be excellent and perfect. GENESE also represents the beginning—the start of a new era in which the work of Jesus through the Holy Spirit is fully accepted and acknowledged.
The following year, we began the process of officially registering our group as an NGO in Ghana. The process was completed on July 28, 2015. It was during this process that the group was registered under the name GENESE Foundation.
On November 1, 2022, GENESE Foundation was registered as a non-profit organization in Canada. The registration of GF in Quebec was completed on November 2, 2022.
Today, GF is involved in and initiates several activities, such as:
- Prayer sessions, Bible sharing, exhortation, and evangelization in person, online, on social media, and through any other available means of communication.
- Free distribution of spiritual material in the form of books, posters, audiovisual resources, newspaper articles, and any other accessible and appropriate means.
- Public events such as training sessions, seminars, conferences, retreats, music production, concert organization, and more.
- Conferences, testimonies, and sharing in social settings.
- Social support activities (distribution of various goods donated by members and supporters) and assistance to those in need.
- Social integration activities.
GF’s activities are aimed at people of all ages.
